When is the FA Cup final?
The FA Cup final will take place on Saturday, May 14 2022.
Kick-off for this year’s clash is 4.45pm.
The FA Cup final referee for Chelsea will be Craig Pawson.
Who is playing in the final?
Liverpool will face off against Chelsea following the Easter semi finals.
The first semi final, Manchester City vs Liverpool took place on April, with Liverpool defeating Premier League champions 3-2 to book their place in the final.
It means Liverpool are still on course for a possible quadruple trophy haul this season, having won the League Cup earlier this year as well as being in the final of the Champions League and one point off Man City in the Premier League table.
The second semi-final, Chelsea vs Crystal Palace, took place on Sunday April 17, with Chelsea beating the fellow London club by 2 goals to nil.
Chelsea will now be looking to get back at Liverpool, after losing to Jurgen Klopp’s team in the League Cup final back in February.
Where is the FA Cup final being played?
The FA Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium – located in Wembley, North London.
Wembley is traditionally the venue for the crucial game.
Both of 2022’s semi-finals are played here too, with Reds captain Jordan Henderson slamming the FA’s decision to keep Wembley as the venue back in March.
Man City and Liverpool are both based in North West England – and due to engineering works affecting travel, Henderson expressed concern that heading down south might prove tricky and costly for fans.
How to watch the FA Cup final on TV
This year, the BBC and ITV have shared the broadcast rights for the FA Cup and the final will be shown on both channels.
Can you get tickets for the FA Cup final?
Tickets for the FA Cup final are sold directly through Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC.
Their official websites explain that tickets for cup finals are sold only to season ticket holders and members. Tickets can be applied for as follows:
UK or UEFA scheme holders (depending on the competition) can purchase one ticket.
Season ticket holders can apply for one ticket.
Members can apply for one ticket.
For cup finals it is unlikely there will be any tickets on sale to members due to the allocation received.
